Hi im kinda new to this but i have a eg hatch with a gsr block with a type r head and p72 ecu and b16 intake manifold and it wont stay running when i start it up the engine will stay idle for a minute then start to bog and turn off and when i rev it up and it wont go past 3500 rpm theres no check engine light on. im guessin it could be a vacuum leak or the vtec solenoid but idk need help.

 

timing is off perhaps.

 

CEL work? Swapped sensor connectors?

 

CEL does work and i dont no about the sensor connectors

 

Make sure the wire colors in each connector match to the sensor.

 

the wire colors match it seems to be running fine today but it will still cut off after like 10 minutes of running at idle do you think it could be the timing

 

Does it also drive well?

Have you tested the igniter unit?

 

it drives fine but like i said before it wont rev pass 3500 rpm oh and how do you test the igniter unit sorry for all the questions kinda new to hondas lol

 

find out the problem the rotar in the distributer was bad.
