LS Auto to Manual swap isnt as easy as everybody thinks!!
I bought my 1996 Acura Integra about 2 years ago from a freind that had no buisness owning a integra for about $500.Good price huh!? Then i started driving it and it was all fun and good until I realized that the only thing i was going to beat on the street was civics. So I looked into 5 speed transmissions and gave myelf a goal to convert this car into a manual.$5000 dollars later i am still rebuilding the tranny beacause a local guy screwed me hard and messed up my first tranny and took 5 months in the process. So i guess my point is buy a manual to begin with or go somewhere you can harass daily!
Auto to manual swap is really easy. Shoot my 17 year old little brother did one all by himself and he has only ever watched me and our Dad work on my cars. And $5000 you got ripped the **** off.
+1 my brother is 20. He once installed an intake on his car and threw away his MAF, thinking it wasn't important. Just watching a few friends and me work on cars he did it no problem. Source the parts, at the right places, at the right price... WAY less than $5,000.
