I recently bought a 94 ls. The D4 light flashes and the speedo does not work as well as revving up and down ... I have swapped the VSS with a know working one and checked to make sure with one wheel up and spinning the speedo seemed to work, a few days later I drove the car and Speedo did not work and D4 flashed AGAIN
The VSS wires are showing power as follows (1. 12v constant, 2. 9v reference, 3. ground)
The 9v is off and the only way to get it to go to 5 is unplugging the gauge cluster. I bought a gauge cluster 98 and seems to be pinned differently than the 94.

Any suggestions?

 

Changed out clusters and Nothing...
