Default My New 1996 Integra LS

Hey guys, after getting back state side I finally got an Integra and joined the Honda community. She's a Frost White 1996 LS with about 150k on the odometer. She has some aftermarket Konig's on her and she has some front end damage to the hood. A guy reversed into it and the owner just took the money and never fixed it. Runs and drives great and it's going to be a fun little project I think. It's a different vehicle than my Land Rover Discovery but I'm ready for something I can drive in the city once I move back to Houston.

My plans for Teggy are:
B18C JDM GSR engine swap (a little more power than the standard B18B)
ITR Front End Conversion (Just looks better I think)
Carbon Fiber hood
Drop her a few inches

I'd like the beefier Type-R engine obviously just because it's a Type-R but the cost difference for a few more horsepower isn't worth it in my book. I found a B18C HMotors and one from Zerolift which is what I've heard are the places to go for an engine. I'm looking for about 300hp turbo'd daily driver if that's reasonable. If not, an all engine 200hp wouldn't be to far out of reach right? I'm pretty mechanically inclined since my Land Rover needed all the love and care so I feel confident I can handle this Honda. Now, for the GSR swap it comes with the engine, all accessories on the engine, hydro transmission, harness, and ecu. I think for an extra $400 I'll get the LSD transmission.

Questions:
ECU & Harness - since they are JDM would I need to source a USDM ECU and Harness?
Mounts - same engines so same mounts? Should I get the Hasport ones anyways?

That's it for now, I sourced some front end conversions. I think I'm going with the ITR and not the SIR-G. Non-HID. But that can wait since it's like another grand and then some for the welding.

Probably not original at all since it's all been done and said many times but I saw an Integra while at the airport in CA flying back to TX and I just wanted one. So be it.

im not in the states, but i believe if u should be able to plug up a usdm ecu to ur car .. i have a b18c as well but i run it on a p30 ecu (which i think u should be able to get over there as well) .. the mounts should be the same so no worries there and good choice with the itr front end .. much cooler look ..
welcome to the honda family .. u should enjoy it ..

I thought the P72 was the USDM GSR ecu? Mines a 96 so it's OBD2. How does running a P38 work?

Well what's reasonable hp for a built GSR-T? I don't want to worry about it blowing up on me but I want a fun DD, you know what I mean? I heard LS-T tend to blow up often but I heard that a few years back so I'm sure things have changed for the better since then

they don't blow up any more than any other turbo honda. lack of tuning is what kills motors.

Sounds good! Since our Integras are Non-VTEC I think we have to wire up V-TEC right? And use the USDM ecu or can we use a JDM ecu if we have a JDM engine? I've been researching like crazy but so far no luck. I know it's on the web somewhere!

So what levels of hp can I presume to get on average with stock internals? Or a better question is when do they normally blow? I think I'm going to build up a GSR top and bottom end first before I turbo it.

nice pick up dude!, welcome . yeah if you want 300whp your ls boosted will be well enough but when it goes stock for stock internals the gsr is the best engine to boost and super easy to make 300whp on them. just have a really good tune to make it last, perform and keep it maintained/watched always buddy. Save your money trust me your Ls is the easiest, cheapest to boost you will not regret it. No vtec so what 300hp is 300hp the TQ on that B18b is wicked 2 .

Wouldn't that be a waste of money? I heard the Type R is meant to be a N/A engine and if I wanted to boost it I would have to change the internals anyways. Isn't the Type R engine the same as the GSR just with high compression pistons and crank? Well not just those but it would be cheaper to get more power from a turbo'd GSR than a Type-R right? I'm just thinking if I had a set amount I could produce more power with $5k on a built GSR than spending that same amount on a Type R.
