CORBEAU seat swap project ( with PICS!!)
so i bought a set of corbeau seats from my local honda forum and they were in pretty bad shape.... the drivers seat had normal waer and tear to be expected.. and the passengers seat was nearly perfect! but they suffered from major sun fading haha.
so my new little project for my 88 hatch is to swap the better passenger side foam and fabric onto the old n busted drivers side... also the rails on it were custom made to fit a 91 hatch (or thats what i was told) so those of you that have an 88 know that the damn rail mounting points are closer together.... so i may need some assistance in the cutting and welding department haha...
i will update as the progress goes along.... i am very lazy haha

^^^ how they looked when i first got them.... as u can see the drivers seat is tow up from da flo up
so onto what i did today!

these are the rails that need to be cut and rewelded to for the oem bolts

the good foam and fabric that will be donated to the pooor poor drivers seat

me and my bro just said to hell with it and separated the seat and made things happen

this is the frame backing we need to keep!

old pos foam

i was wondering why the passenger seat didnt want to recline and took the cover off to find this!

new foam onto drivers frame

minor trimmage

light foam backing being glued back on

and then monies fell out!!!!

i wanted to save the right leg portion on the drivers seat because it had better material

new donor seat cover goes onto the drivers seat back!!

finished the first half!!!!!

new hogties for the seat

dirty but dope!

so thats it until tomorrow im doing the seat at my moms house and it started getting late so im gonna be going back to finish tomorrow! :wave1:

so today i managed to finish the bottom half of the seat and reassemble back to one unit! ahh im soo excited! haha
soo first thing today was to take off the rail to the passenger donor seat to get to the hogties underneath

after so we removed the center cushion piece to keep onto the new drivers seat

donor side taken off first then installed onto the new drivers bottom

the seat bottom permanantly installed onto the drivers seat frame

again with new hog rings

my lil bro putting in the side hinge bolt

new holes i had to make for the bracket for recliner yayuhhh!!!

finally finished!

BUT!!!!!!! the project is not yet finished due to the rails that came with the seats need to be trimmed and the mounting plates need to be repositioned..... ALSO im going to be "spray dying" all the seats in my car and oh yes there will be pics of that too!! haha so stay tuned in peoples!!!:you rock::drive:
