rev limit?redlining early?
HT,
this stupid problem has come back...
my car is acting like it is redlining early..like some kind of rev limit..4k rpms in first, then it seems like its around 5k-5500 rpms in every gear afterwards..
it seems like the more power i put into the motor(i just put on a turbo kit),the earlier it will rev limit..(it was doing this before the turbo, unrelated.)
please help me,this just isnt right..i didnt put all this work into the car for it to get to only 4k rpms really fast..lol
only code is for tps(i have it unhooked because it is faulty, and i didnt feel like hearing the surging idle.runs/drives perfectly fine, its my dd for the past 6 months or so..)
Thanks in advance!!

I agree,i just cant afford one at the moment.Im not gonna lie, anxiety gets the best of me..but hey,i still need this thing running correctly..
I was looking around and found a semi broken wire at a plug on the dizzy.i moved it,took it for a drive and she redlined a LOT closer to 7k rpm..so i am assuming that is the problem.
would this make sense?it was a wire on the fat plug to the dizzy.i dont know if i just got lucky or what, because i only got on it around the block real quick and it seemed fine..

did you tune your car? if not you should not be driving around like that. fix that tps problem and go tune. if you cant afford it either dont drive it or take it off till you can afford it. boosting is not cheap
i come from the days when we stuck a check valve in the map sensor and installed an fmu, gapped the plugs and boosted...and that's what i did..

My H did this to me before, it was either the MSD coil or the ignitor in the Dizzy, i took the coil off and changed the ignitor at the same time, so not sure which one caused it.
i just so happen to have a brand new coil and icm, plus extras.ill try it out and update!thanks!
These guys are right, you need to fix your TPS first. you are aware that you can buy a new TPS without buying the throttle body? As cheap as $39. It could very well be that your TPS is what's causing your problem. When you're revving out early, there could be a number of reasons why, like a bad ECU, no VTEC activation, etc. Get the basics running then move on.
