Icon2 repainting my 00 ebp si

i have a si i recently purchased the car is all factroy paint minus the quarter panels ans the roof they have been repainted but the blue is off its lighter i got the paint with plans to redo the whole car im new to painting so this will be my first paint job the local napa auto parts here has paint and the guy said i can get red scothbright and scuff the whole car and repaint it no need to prime or anyhthing else because im doin the same color my question is since the quarters and roof are lighter do i need to do a coat or two first ? to even it out with the rest of the blue? or am i good to start shooting coats all ove rthe car? ive submitted a picture and i hope ur able to see what it is im talking about. any info and help will be apreciated thank u

what I do is scuff the areas that you plan to paint with a scothbright pad. you really don't need to primer unless you are doing a repair or if metal is showing. just make sure you scuff the top layer of paint pretty good so the new paint has a good area to stick too. if your using the exact paint that was sprayed before you wont really need to respray those areas. just wet sand and buff everything after your done painting.
