Most DURABLE High Heat Paint
What is the most durable longest lasting aerosol paint that is readily available?
Im looking to paint a few things. The turbo being the one I think needs the most durable paint. I for sure want to paint the compressor housing, which I think regular 500 degree duplicolor engine enamel may be good enough for, aswell as my valve cover, intake manifold and transmission.
I was also hoping to paint the exhaust housing of the turbo, which obviously sees extreme heat, but I hate the look of a fresh looking motor and a rusty exhaust housing like they all go on our daily drivers.
Is there a paint that can take the abuse? And not squish/ruin when tightening fasteners into it??
I have several weeks to do this paint project so if a paint needs to hardnen for some time afterwards to become even more durable that isnt a problem.
What are you guys using?? Hopefully with a year+ durability. Pics of how things look JUST painted arent really relevant. I want durability and long lasting
Thanks for any tips

500 degree? You obviously are not at all familiar with how hot a turbo can get. You could get up to 2000 degrees depending on conditions. Probably nothing off the shelf is gonna cut it. Look into ceramics.
500* for everything but the hot side housing.
Hot side housing is the only thing Im worried about it really just disintegrating, Id also like to know a durable paint that will be rock hard and not chip or discolor quickly.
I was thinking of even just high heat clearcoating the clean bare aluminum for the intake manifold, turbo cold side housing, valve cover but Id still need good strong clearcoat

The best aerosol high heat paint that I have used is VHT FLameProof header paint. It is rated at 2000*F. You can buy it at any Pepboys. I've use it on headers, charge pipes, turbos, downpipes, and mufflers with no problems.
Ya I have seen that brand actually but never read the can because they keep it locked up at my local store.
Only comes in silver and black right?
Im curious if it would REALLY work on turbo hotsides though

It actually comes in quite a few colors but black and grey is typically what you see in most stores. You have to order most other colors. Your store can probably order you other colors. Here is a link ----> http://www.vhtpaint.com/products/flameproof/
I have never painted the turbine housing of a turbo with this stuff but I think it might get the job done.
