2001 honda civic dx will not turn over or crank
i have a 2001 honda civic that wont crank over
i replaced the starter which didnt help lol. I also had my battery checked and it was in great condition. So im at a bind here. I really dont know why it wont crank over. When i turn on the key the lights on the dash board stay on when i turn the key over. I l also hear the fuel pump come on. The car does not an anti theft device. Oh and the car is manual too. not automatic. Can someone help?

I have a 2000 Honda Civic doing the same. Only the dash and dome lights come on. We had to push start it to get it home. Same as you, the battery is fine and tested the starter. I was told to unplug the clutch safety switch and replace it with a metal paper clip ( unfold it and place one side in each prong). If it starts up then its the safety switch, if not then its something else wrong. In my case, something else is wrong. Hope that works for you.
hi i have a honda civic 98 coupe.
@hannibal1707
check how many times the Immo icon is blinking if its blinking more then 5 times the your car is not passing the immobilizer
Check if you are getting a signal to your starter
unplug the small cabel on the starten and check if 12v is coming true the cabel
this requires 2 persons to do it 1 to start 1 to crank
If non of the above issint working you can try to unplug the smallcabel on your starter
and take a pice of cabel and connect it form your starter Positive to the starter Signal
that will make your car crank if it starting then you have a bad ground
check your ground positions:
at the front of the car form left to right
- your starter
- below your starter on your gearbox
- Thermostatehouse (The moste importen one)
- Exhaustheader (upperright)
- The battery
I know this because i had the same problem and i had a bad Ground on my starter
i hope i was helpfull with this

if you can push the car and start it
you have problems with your immobilizer
it can be :
- Immobilizer Relay (under the hazard light switcht)
- Immobilizer Recifer (Round black thing around your keyhole)
- Immobilizer Transmitter (Key)
or you have to check the fuses under the hood
backup fuse 7.5a a blue one
