Icon2 90 Civic EF with 1.5/1/6, where to start?

So i have a 90 Honda Civic HB with a 4 speed manual. It also looks like it had a 1.5L (D15) in it and then was replaced with a 1.6L. Yup it now has a SOHC ZC in it. BUT by the looks of it, it looks like the previous owner removed the old D15 head and block out and replaced it with the ZC head and block and THAT'S IT. The distributor, 1.5 intake mani, ecu, 4-speed manual, and exhaust manifold and stayed there. HMMM , im losing power huh!

SO from here, i want to know where you all think i should start from.
Should i replace the intake manifold with a D16 one, replace my wiring/ecu, etc??

The more tips and ideas the better!!

Thanks for now and i will come back to this forum daily.

PS, should i keep the 4 speed???? Kinda badass lol

It all depends on your budget. I say keep it sohc and build it from there. Yes you do want to convert it to mpfi, meaning replace the im, ecu, injectors from a 90-91 si and convert your harness from dpfi to mpfi. There are many threads on converting to mPfi. I have the 92+ z6 im, tb, inj, p28 and harness if you'd like to buy. You can convert to obd1 and have vtec if you have a vtec head.

So I was thinking about going Vtec and most likely going to. Not sure yet on whether to get a y8 head or a z6 head. (Anyone?) from there get an aftermarket D16 IM and TB with stock D16 fuel injectors and an upgraded fuel (most likely AEM) depending whether I go y8 or z6, hunt down the matching harness and get a p28 for it. And obviously go from dpfi to pmfi.

So I guess depending on what you Honda geeks lol suggest is better y8 or z6 head, that's what I will be hunting down.
