Reverse Vibration (after T-swap and new mounts)
Last weekend I pulled my engine and transmission and performed a swap on the transmission (2001, LX, Sedan, AT) with a reman. I replaced all 4 motor mounts, all belts, radiator, and the front and rear seals. Went off without a hitch with the exception of one thing - slight (not severe but more than normal) vibration in reverse (and suspension issues but that's another story).
When I reinstalled, I left the motor/tranny hanging on the hoist and installed in the sequence called out in the service manual - back, side, tranny, front. I believe it's just a position issue with one of the mounts but not sure the best way to diagnose. I'm thinking I will loosen everything up at one time, only with the engine weight this time and retighten in the same sequence.
Seems to be a bit worse when it's cold but can't really tell that much difference. Anyone have any other ideas on how to diagnose this? I will post a thread on the full job but wanted at least a week on the new tranny first. Thanks.
