Default tranny sound, thinking of a swap

Ok, so i have a 97 dx y7 car all stock. When the pedal is released it makes kind of a scrapping sound, but when I press the pedal the sound goes away. From what I have read this means my input shaft bearing is bad. Any input would be nice. If this is the case I was recommended to just swap the trans because getting it fixed would cost a pretty penny. So what would be a good replacement trans? I have seen a few integra's with 6 speed swaps is that a option on these d series motors? I'm new to Hondas so help is needed.

there are no 6 speed transmissions available for an integra with a stock motor.

you can put any other 92+ d series transmission you want in there. if you want a bit more pep you can use an ex or 92-95 si.

No it doesn't. The throwout bearing will only make noise when depressing the clutch pedal.

One or more of the 5 bearings in the transmission is bad. Usually it's the input shaft bearing.

You have to drop the transmission and then dissassemble most of it as the bearing is under almost everything else. It's not particularly hard and doesn't require much in the way of specialized tools (snap-ring pliers and an 8mm allen socket) it's more time consuming than anything.
