Default Racing Gas Question??????????

I was wondering if using 108 octane racing gas on my Nitrous'd Civic would help on the track.

if you weren't running nitrous then no it would actually hurt the preformance, but since you are spraying i think it would help and give you less chance of detonating. what size shot are you using?

If you're not detonating higher octane fuels wont do you a bit of good. the *only* thing they do for you is prevent detonation, they're no more powerfull than lower octane. If you are detonating then running higher octane fuel will help stop it and alow you to run your car with more aggressive settings instead of having to back things off to prevent detonation.

Leaded gas will only F up your cat. It will not cause any damage to your engine, so just run a straight pipe

Also will kill the oxygen sensor.

55-65 shot of nitrous, I used plain old 87 octane.

I'm glad I researched this before I head to the track soon. I was planning on getting $5 or so of racing gas from the track

I'll stick with Shell's 93 Octane instead

you can always pick up a 5 gallon of 76's 100 ocatane unleaded.. and 96 octane works real good too..

Blending chart with 100 octane (unleaded)

1 gal 91/1 gal 100 = 95.5 octane
1 gal 92/1 gal 100 = 96.0 octane
1 gal 93/1 gal 100 = 96.5 octane

Its the same for any equal amount (eg: 5 gal 91/5 gal 100 = 95.5 octane)
