i have a curious question about whether or not the 7th gen civic motors' mounting points are the same as previous civics' mounting points. im only referring to the D series motors though.... if anyone can shed some light, i would very much appreciate it.

No they are different. The D17 and 01-05 Civic are a bastard child of Civics.
