anybody here running a Fluidyne rad?
my stock rad is about to die, and im wondering what my options are..
i'd rather not get raped on a new OEM unit, and the thought of some POS aftermarket part going into my car bugs me to no end.
SO that leaves Fluidyne... all i could find on their webpage is a 90-00 Teg and 94+ Accord?
do they make a rad for EF's? if so is it worth the money? im gonna need to do this fairly soon so any info is greatly apreciated... thnx!

If you wanna talk about raping, if you want the Fluidyne, you're gonna have to bend over and expect a very large surprise. They're well over $300.
I just put a new rad on my '90 crx si; I really wanted the Fluidyne, but couldn't justify the expense. I ended up getting an OEM replacement from Absolute Radiator for $122; the core's about twice as thick as OEM, and the quality's great. Fits like a glove! One word of caution, though: someone else just installed one on their crx equipped with a/c, and it hit the fan, so he had to adjust it slightly.
I think you should consider it before you shoot the moon and buy the Fluidyne.

If it gets cold where you live, dont expect your heater to work well with a fluidyne.
winters here get down around uh... -15 Celcius on average.... is it that noticable with the fluidyne?
maybe i'll just toss a peice of cardboard in front of the rad... redneck spec

yes they are right, first of all, us living in canada, you better get ready to get F**ked in the ***, as I did. Living in Kelowna, you dont have to worry about it getting to cold there. It is worth it, but depends on how much heat your engine is making, and how hard you drive, because I compete with my car, I got one, but if its just your daily rice rocket, maybe it might be better to spend the money on something else.
Unless you Race hard on open tracks or you live in Phoenix or Fresno or someplace that's just too damn hot then you pretty much would be wasting your money on a fluidyne.
I just installed a Koyo dual core (oem) on my crx with b16 and a/c. I got my rad from radiators.com for 135 SHIPPED OVERNIGHT!!!!
You just need a 10mm wrench/socket/extension/ratchet and pair of plyers and you should be set. Drain radiator, remove upper/lower hoses, unbolt fan housings from fan and remove fans (you will need patience for this!!!). After that remove the 2 things that hold the rad. in place. Thing should just slide out and straight up but you may have to finagle the a/c lines to get it out.
I'm doing a "how to" on rad. uninstall and intall with ef's with b16's and a/c. I will post in a few days.

I used a stock fan but i had to cut it all up to clear my header, blades and all. However that is because its a smsp b20 header and its huge. You wont have to modify the stock fan very much if your running a normal size header.
