2003 Accord Coupe Opinions
Honda's coupe seems to have moved in line with BMW 3-series them...particularly BMW's e36 M3 to new generation e46 M3....kinda became a Fat Albert (bigger, heavier, less nimble, some more power). Or so it seems.
Looked at but didn't drive the '03 EX coupe. Nice interior, but there doesn't seem to be much more leg room in the rear than my '90 Civic. Trunk opening is small. Those nice tall sheet metal sides are just begging for door dings. Overall, I like it. At least it's still got the full 4 corner double wishbone suspension (unless I was blind). The front styling is nice, but the rear is a little boring. Maybe a factory spoiler would add some interrest. At about $24k, there are a lot of other cars to compare it with. I'm biased towards the Honda line. However, lately I'm disappointed with how boring all their products are. Great cars. Always there for you when you need it. But, so is a refrigerator. I appreciate the dependability aspect of the product, but they've become just an appliance. I wish they wouldn't be so conservative and take a little bit of risk in their designs. (Getting off the soap box now) Thanks for reading....
its not coming out till december from what i'm told. still like the styling of the present coupe better and interior but like everything about the engine better.
i only recommend the 6-spd v6 coupe, we got one at our dealership as a demo and i had the opportunity to drive it and it feels like the cl-s 6-spd. what a great feeling, torque in a honda is amazing. btw, i really like how the coupe looks with the alloy wheels, optional spoiler and aero kit. looks damn nice.
Test drove the auto V6 coupe. Very smooth tranny. Putting down my deposit on one next week. Hey Razor, are you guys selling the 6 speed at sticker?

Should be a beast. I'm am still on the fence about the styling on both the Sedan and the Coupe, but the V6 powertrain is very impressive, especially with the 6speed tranny. Look out CL-S6 and E36 M3s!
the 4cyl coupe are at the dealer lots already(last week..), taking test drives and trying to sell a few. Is freakin' stupid to have a 31XXX price tag on a 4cyl(yes, 4cyl) with 18's($1900), tint($250), wing($900), oem bodykit($300 a piecesx4), auto tranny ex.
I also saw couple of 4cyl(lx?) coupe for 23,500.
the ugly sedan03 dx for 18000...power windows, abs,ac

I would say wait till 2004 for a 6sp, Honda is just trying to screw us now, but just like the S2K and WRX more will come and the mark-up goes away. The 98-99 EX V6 coupes were similar situation, dealers got 1 a month, which didn't create a mark-up, but you didn't get a deal either.
wow
seen the coupe on sat., thought they were coming out in dec, guess not.
looked real nice. not sure if it was a demo cause it was tinted and had a banner on the front window.
I want 1now

I went to test drive a V6 coupe on Saturday but they were closed. Then I went to the Acura dealership to test drive an RSX type-S and they didn't have any. I had my mom's Maxima so I was going to buy a new car...wink, wink... I was hoping to see what a 240HP i-vtec engine could do (or at least a 200hp i-vtec).
That thing seriously pulls. But the cool part is you can run it full throttle and the shfts are still smooth as can be. I guess that's what somebody meant when they said it was a luxury V6 5 speed. It can go but shifts really smooth the whole time. My deposit goes down this week. I can't wait.
i've driven the 4 door 4cyl, v6, and coupe v6. The 4 cyl is ok. The 4 door is definatly a nice family car. The coupe is awesome. I want to buy one. The accord V6's arent as fast as i thought theyd be. The get up and go, but have no pulling power. The 6 speed should be a completely different animal, if our dealership ever gets one. Oh, and i've seen 4 cyl coupes going for 20grand, so the price isnt too steep.
No pulling power? We are talking about a Honda here aren't we? Last I checked Hondas weren't made for low end torque, but high end power. That's just the way Honda cars are. Made for fun in the high revs man. I love it.
I haven't seen any official sales figures yet, but I've already noticed Honda (dealers) are making deals on the sedans already. I've noticed those "3 only @ $16888K" listings in the classifieds. Only seen 2 on the road myself since they've been released. Oh well...I guess compared to the "flashier" altima/626/maxima and others, the sedan isn't stacking up so well. Remember the aztec fiasco?
