1st gen CRX: buying, things to look for
When buying a 1st gen CRX Si, what are some of the things to look for? ie., 2gs always have rust on the rear wheelwells, check to see the taillights are lined up with the rear bumper right (so you know it hasn't been hit), etc, etc...
I know they have plastic noses, so check for cracks there, anything else? Where are they rust-prone? Thanks in advance

Well, after rebuilding one a couple of months ago and I learned a couple of things. Since the car is so old and the front end is plastic, it has hardened over time and is brittle. If the fenders and center panel is still in good condition...great! Rust is very common in the rear wheel wells and also in the lower rocker panel. Check the gas tank under neath and the motor mounts for rust.
I think in due time, I'm going to find another 1st gen and do a D16A1 swap in it. Bolts right in along with 1st gen teg brakes, ECU, and of course the engine. GOOD LUCK!

Yeah, I'm the one who will be buying the car, Raene and I are going to look at one this afternoon. The dealer says it's clean and has a new paint job, but I may bring a magnet along to search for hidden bondo

there is a first gen sitting in a junkyard by my house that is in damn good condition, looks like the motor just died and the person didn't feel like messing with it.
