Icon2 Shifter Problemo!

Hey HT, Im in a little bit of confusion. My 94 si's shifter was super loose, so i replaced my shift bushings hoping it would stop the side to side movement. Unfortunatly it didnt so now im here with my question. I did a search but couldnt find help. Ill attach some pics because i have a question about the link cabled (labeled as 13) in the picture below. It has a huge **** on the end facing the trunk. Then also (pictured) below theres a peice of metal with 2 wholes on it, so im kinda thinking there might be something missing which makes my shifter mover side to side while im in gear. If anyone has any help id appreciate it alot.

Thanks

nope, there's nothing missing. Did you replace the bushings at the transmission as well? I would also recommend tightening the bolt that connects to your shifter, and use loctite. Mine ended up rattling loose while I was on the highway, and I could only use 3rd gear

Check for play in the U-joint on the transmission side of #13.

I bet its the Joint on rod 13, Take the whole thing off and see if its snug.. If it swings around loose its at fault! Should be alittle tightness at the joint and its super easy to rebuild and will feel tight agian.

Check to see if some dumbass MacGyver mechanic replaced the shift linkage roll pin (#28 in your picture) with a nut/bolt.
