Default Need a Lil tech help please

High guys, well I've had my 93 ex cb7 for a Lil over a month now, and today I was out on the freeway and put my foot into it, well at lower rpm I notice a ping, but I I give it more gas it goes away, also it will not let me go over 5500 rpm, it hits 5500 and then starts to fall on its face like a complete lack of power, and while all this is going on it starts to get warm, I haven't done anything to the engine, but the guy I got it from had the water pump and t belt replaced, do you guys think it could be a tooth off, or some thing different?

I recommend checking the Harmonic Balancer. I had the same issue. Mine broke in half. It might not be that extreme, but I had the same issue you are experiencing.

I'll check that out, but my problem is, if the harmonic balancer is bad, why would it ping at low rpm and lose power only at 5500 rpm

I don't know the specifics, but I do know that the "HB" has alot to do with your RPMs & power loss. I replaced mine about 2months ago & all problems were gone.
