93 Accord Cutting out while driving
Have a wonderful '93 that I love to drive but 2 issues have developed lately:
1. When travelin down the road, engine starts cutting out intermittently---might keep doing it for a few miles, then quits.
If I floor it, it runs just fine. Odd thing: on a recent trip to
Seattle, it started cutting out for a while--then yellow chk engine light came on & it ran fine the rest of the way (2hrs running). Same happens on my 10mile commute each day. Cuts out for a bit, then runs fine & always runs fine when chk light comes on. Bad o2 sensor? Bad caty converter? other problem?
2. Steering has begun singing to me--low dull squeal--when I turn left or right. Steering feeling sluggish, not smooth. Fluid fine.
Pump going bad? Belt?
Thanks for any comments to help.

That could be a number of sensors or other things. Check the code that your car has stored in the computer. You can do this by locating the blue two pin connector under the glove box. If you reach under the glove close to the right side behind the plastic there should be a piece of rubber with 2 plugs in it, one with three pins, one with two. Bridge the two-pinned connector with a paper clip, set the ignition to on and watch the CEL light flash.

Post the code, and we can give you a decent answer.
Could be the TPS (throttle), or the EGR system, or a broken TDC/CKP/CYP (distributor.) The car will still run, but will exhibit a number of problems..
