99 accord 3.0 v6 vtech drive shaft whine
Is the whine coming from the drivers side or passengers side, does it whine when you turn left or right, or when you go forward? Does it sound like you're going in reverse?
You're car has 2 CV axle driveshafts, right and left. Check the boots on the ends of the axles connected to your wheels. It could also be the wheel bearings, or the tie rods.
Simple answer if you don't want to replace it, find the problem, go to autozone or where ever you like to go, buy some axle grease, and apply it to the gear at the end of the axle with (most likely) the broken boot.

the whine occurs upon acceleration going forward yea it kinda does sound like im in reverse... it goes away at high speeds... also i get a whine turning left and right kinda sounds like a power steering whine but the power steering is fine...
So the whine is while driving and it is all around, it seems to come from every direction? Does it happen at low or high RPM's? How did you check the power steering? It could operate correctly if it just started to fail. How long has it been making the noise? Is your car manual or automatic?
It seems likely that your transmission itself may be low on fluid/oil or perhaps damaged. CV axles, wheel bearings, tie rods and other steering components make a clacking sound when failing, very metallic, nothing like the whine when in reverse.

i was thinking the same as far as the trany goes... its an auto it happens at low rpm... power steering was jus a quick check all the lines fluids... im thinkin about replacing the filter also it doesnt feel like theres anything wrong with the powersteering when i drive jus the whine u get when the fluid is low which its not... going to do a flush on the trany this weekend maybe thatll help
