Default 93 civic ignition lock assembly changed but no power or start

I recently change my ignition lock assembly on my 1993 honda civic. Reason why i change it was because the ignition lock was getting messed up and the key will get stuck at times.

So i just changed the whole assembly with a new one i bought at autozone.
it was a complete kit. the ignition lock assembly, keys, and the 2 plugs with wires and plugs underneath the dash. one plugs into the fuse box and the other right on top of it.

for some reason when i turn the key, i get no power and it wont start obviously.

i also noticed that my headlights, electric door lock, interior light do not work for some reason.
but my hazard and my horn works perfectly fine.

i tried resetting the battery and that did not work either. i installed the old lock assembly back but that did not work either. all the fuses check out good and none are blown.

can anyone help me out who have had similar problems.
any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks

Did you disconnect the battery when working with the ignition switch ? Sounds like a blown fuse or two.

Some times aftermarket parts are just junk. You might have a faulty switch
