Hello, I am new to the forums. I have done some searching and can find no answer to this problem..The problem I am having is this:

I have a 99 Accord V6 Model with steering wheel controls. When the car had a factory radio in it the steering controls (I believe) worked just fine. Now I have had a high end nav radio installed at a local business I have used for years and years ( I don't believe they would lie to me as they are friends) I also had them install an interface so I could retain my controls. Now as soon as it was installed the volume controls barely work. Sometimes it will not respond at all and if you move the steering wheel a little it will work. The middle button between volumes works every time no matter what, but the strange thing is I will be driving and the middle button will be activated for no reason..example I will be driving and my CD will skip to the next track or radio will go to next preset. Sometimes it happens when I go over a big bump, but sometimes it happens on smooth roads.

The man at the place thinks it could be the steering wheel clock spring. I don't understand why it would start after this interface was installed. He thought maybe the interface went bad so he swapped it out 3 times to see.

My Cruise control work perfect and the SRS light is not on so I don't know what it could be.

Update: The audio place swapped out the interface for a completely different module and it is still doing the same thing.

Sounds like a poor wiring job. Loose connections or exposed wires that are touching when bumped.

 

I would ask the installer to Reinstall the radio its only fair.Or put in a new one, could be defective Radio. Or take it to another shop for opinion.
