Windshield Wipers disconected help. 90 Civic DX
Today I was driving in the rain in my 1990 civic DX hatchback and turned my wipers on full. After about 30 seconds they got stuck in the full up position and I herd clanking. I pulled over and I can grab the wiper and move it freely. So i drove home with my head out the window like a dog and took off the plastic vent piece just below the windshield. I can reach through a little hole and grab the arm that connects the two blades and move it freely. If I manually retract it, then turn on the wipers, the motor will push the blades up, but will not pull them back down. So that means that it is disconnected somewhere. But I can't figure out how to get to those arms. They are under metal. Do I go through the dashboard or am I overlooking something? Thanks.
Nope, it's only accessible from under the cowl trim, [the plastic vent piece]...

If both wipers move when you, "grab the arm", it would not surprised me if you found #22, [10mm nut] loose or off.
The other possibility is #14 is broken. 94

I just took off the cowl trim, then there is a plastic cover over on of the holes underneath that. I took that off and discovered that the arm simply came off of the motor. I just put it back on and jammed that little plastic piece that goes over the ball over it. Hopefully it will last for a little while.
