Default TPS sensor calibrating

So when i go to calibrate my tps sensor my multimeter wont read anything when the ignition is in the on position but will read about .6 with the throttle body closed and up to about 1.5 with it closed.

i just bought a new TPS sensor and still the same thing.

maybe a short in the wiring? i have no idea any help would be awesome thanks in advance.

Which wire are you probing and are you touching it all the way? Are you 100% sure the sensor is plugged in all the way?

Here's a thread i found that might help you out: www.honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2426475

i am probing the middle red wire, and i am pretty sure i am touching the wire all the way and i made sure i pushed the plug on all the way and wiggled it to see if it did anything. i can only get a reading with the car completely off and when i put the ignition to the on position it wont read anything.

yes i know it doesnt make sense lol that why i want to know what the hell is up with it. although the car is off the battery is still hooked up so it can take a reading. but when i turn the ignition to on it may be causing a short or something but thats what i dont know.

One wire should be 5v another should be a ground, are you getting that with the key on? If not I would say there is a short/problem with the ecu.

Just making sure: Your on volts, not ohms, right?

omfg dude im so stupid i think i was on ohms not volts, i feel so stupid lmao thanks for reminding me about that god damn..

but just to make sure when you pull the plug off when its running the car should start running like **** right? because when i do that it drops in rpms for like a second then revs up to like 2k rpms

Unplug connector from sensor and measure voltage with ignition on between yellow/blue(positive) and green/blue(negative) wire terminals.

If voltage is not about 5 volts check wiring between sensor and ecu.

If voltage is about 5 volts, turn ignition on measure voltage between D11 and D22 at ecu. Voltage should be about .5 closed throttle 4.5 fully open and smoothly increase with throttle opening.
