got my self a b16 head (pics)
a few pics of my complete head, bought it off a friend for 200, he believes its a 94 head, im here with a few questions, how much to get it port'& polished + machine work,
also when its time to put her in i would like to invest on other performance parts(what would you recommend?? ) so i can go faster then i am now, hopefully down the road get a b16 tranny (lsd) ,maybe even convert to hydro tranny instead of cable......, im hoping to reach 160-180 hp ....

you do not need a port and polish. its expensive, you would be better off buying a b16 trans .also prepare your block for the lsv rebuild it with higher compression pistons and arp rod bolts. look up how to do a reliable lsv set up.
Forged rods, ARP rod bolts..and Balance!!! The B18a1 redlines at 6800, the B16, depending on exact one, redlines at 8000..bring the bottom ends redline up to match the heads!
yes those things i will be getting for sure ' higher compression pistons and arp head bolts....and some better motor mounts
thanks man, bought it off a buddy, whos slowly getting out of the game...have had the head for going on 3 months...i might just wait tell taxes so i can get it done right.
The block im currently running is a B18a1 with , car is a 1990 integra

i noticed that rough piece , i knew it was obviously broken, ...so what your sayin is ditch the head get a new one because of the cam cap? because its that hard to replace one or what?
Cam caps arent supposed to be interchangeable, Ive heard of people who have no issue and heard of people who have had big issues...on the other hand I run a distributor on one bolt usually, never had a problem
lol today at work confronted my friend who sold me the head and he said its not a big deal he has some laying around, so ill be getting a spair cam cap, and when its time to take the head to get machined ill have them switch out the cam cap....
Its NO big deal at all. i wouldnt mention it to them as you will need to remove all cap holder's etc when reinstalling head.
yeah its nothing to worry about at all man! and there interchangeable, i have b18cr cam holder's and cam cap's on my b16a head lol
have you found what year it is? that will be the biggie. well camshaft wise. as the b16a2 cam's are very good and agressive stock

This can easily be done with plastigauge, Better yet, have the machinist check the new cam holder clearance while you are having your cylinder head rebuilt/machined.
