Default got AC Tig!

Hi guys, recently got a ac/dc tig, it many buttons , i assume some works for AC current and the other ones for DC one.

Ok, Tig has this buttons, :

Current Base
Pulse Width
Pulse Freq
Welding current
AC Freq
AC balance
Down slope
Post Flow

And have some switchs like:

Pulse On - OFF
4T - 2T
AC - DC
MMA - TIG

I know what some buttons are used for but i'd like to know if someone can explain each button ,would be great, for example i dont understand AC Balance, 4T/2T , Pulse On-Off, also not sure if you can share settings you use welding aluminium and stainless.. will be a usefull thread for many people.

Thanks!

Being able to adjust AC balance and frequency is must IMO, and even moreso understanding the theory behind it. A lot of people brush off inverter type welders as a gimick/cheat, but it's definitely a useful tool in the arsenal. For AL, don't bother with pulse, leave that off. Standard settings on an inverter are most often, 80% EN, 120hz, usually 10sec post flow (sometimes more depending on the amperage), current depends on the thickness of the metal (with AL I usually run on the hotter side of the range), and don't worry about downslope. Miller has a pretty good explaination here: http://www.millerwelds.com/resources...rticles15.html
weldingtipsandtricks.com is also a great resource for biginners: http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com/...-aluminum.html
What brand welder did you get BTW?

2t/4t is pedal or switch. 2t was pedal I believe. Ac is for al usually, Ed for steels.. Mma is for stick welding, and tig is for....well tig. Did u buy it new. If so the manual will have a ton of info. Took me about 3 hrs to comprehend my Everlast manual. But it made understanding it all a bit easier.

Hi, thanks for your reply, this is the new tig i got. i dont understan german language , bought it from supplier from Italy, it's not expensive but not cheaper neither.. manual really sucks a bit because it's ony 4 sheets..explain how to use tig but not explain what each switch is used for..
