H22 Timing belt changing q's
I posted this in the HYBRID forum to no avail.. You guys are H22 experts here so..
Here goes. I'm changing the timing belt on my JDM H22.. I got the USDM 97 H22 belt, but I found out my motor is a 95, so its a 96 model year.. the #'s on the belt are like P13-004 on the CAR, and on the part they are P13-014... Are they the same length? I need to get this on, but it seems REALLY tight, even with the auto tensioner off.... Any help would be GREAT. thanks!!!
And how'd you keep the auto tensioner compressed when you installed it again? there's a special tool from Honda, but I know you guys didnt all buy one..

The timing belt is a good question. I bought timing belts off a guy on PO a while ago, I don't know which # they are but i'm going to check tonight!
You have PM. I would REALLY REALLY appreciate that man.
to you!
Still stumped on the belt #'s though.. Anyone out there know if they're all the same? once you remove the tensioner, shouldn't it be easy to change the belt, or is it a real tight fit?

The belts are interchangeable, I have the '014' on my car, and I changed from a '004'.. The last 3 digits in a honda part number are the part 'revision' or a supplier change ect. You can use the new belt FOR SURE.
Buy the tool to install the tensioner, it's the best way to go, it cost me like 8$ Canadian and I got it the next day.

with the autotensioner off the belt should slip right in if aligned properly , i went to a honda dealer and talked a mechanic into letting me borrow his stopper tool for $20 as collateral.
