My 02 civic just recently started making a clack, clack, clack noise when driving. It sounds like the front right brake. It goes away with acceleration or turning to left. It almost makes me think the caliper is loose or something. I checked the bolts and all are tight and dont feel that the caliper is loose. Any ideas???

 

How loud is the noise? Have you inspected the axle?

Does the noise stop when you apply the brakes?

Have you inspected any of the suspension components?

 

You might want to check the CV joint...

 

it does stop with me pressing the brake.
axle is good.
suspension is all good and in working order.

my initial thought was the cv axle, noise goes away when turning, stopping or acceleration.
it only makes a clack clack when going strait.
