92 integra LS will not crank with the key
The rundown is my friend was driving his car and a hose busted. the car started to get hot so he pulled over and shut it off before it got too hot. We towed it home and tried to crank the car to look for the busted hose. [B]Car will not turn over with the key.[B]
What i have done so far
Checked ignition switch.....Fine, all voltages check out
Checked main fuel relay.......Fine, installed it in my car and my car cranked right up
Jumped starter solenoid with a wire to the + of battery.....Fine car started right up
Checked clutch safety switch.......Fine? No change when switch was bypassed with a jumper wire so I'm assuming it is fine.
Question is, is there another relay in line from the main to the starter? I read a post where this is what they found. It is a relay behind the radio between the A/C ducts. Called the clutch safety relay i think. Does anyone else have any experience with this?
I am going to put a jumper push button starter on it if i cannot find out about this relay. I dont really want to do that because it is just a band-aid and I want to fix it, but I'm out of options. He really needs the car running, It is his DD. Thanks in advance

Yes there is a starter relay, the CIS ,[Clutch Interlock Switch] supplies the "starter relay" coil with a ground, the ign. switch supplies the power for the coil and the starter motor solenoid, [through the relay].
First tests I would do is turn ign. to the start position and hold it there, then step on and release the clutch, you should hear the starter relay under the center of the dash on right side of heater box, [I think on a 92].
IF you do not hear the "click" the relay is bad or wiring to it, if you do hear the click, test for power on the starter at the starter, probably no power as the bypass jump does work or it is low power because of poor connections at either the ign. switch or at the starter relay. 94

I will try that. Thanks that is a nice trick. The car cranks when i bypass the switch system. so it has to be that relay it is the only thing left except for a broken wire.
