Icon2 1988 honda crx si rear winshield wiper home

have this car problem on rear winshield wiper home location when i turn off the switch, It stays in up position instead at the lower part of the windshield
like any other car with rear winshield wiper. Is this normal? If not, how can i make the wiper to stay at lower part of the winshield ? Is ther any way to reverse the home position, any connection i need to reverse/rewiwre?

Thanks to anybody that can help me solve this problem.

Staying in the up position is normal. It is more aerodynamic in the up position FYI.

To see if you can reverse wire the motor first you need to check and see if the motor body is grounded. I would pull the trim on the hatch and check continuity from the connectors on the motor (with it disconnected) to the car's body.

The service manual shows that the rear wiper should park in the down position.

Up is home afaik (since it never really goes all the way fully horizontally + would be parked @ an angle across glass, prolly to be able to clear the other countries "SiR/VT" rear spoiler methinks?) Glad wiper was on same side in all markets... btw,use an early Integra hatchback 3 dr (DA Integra RS? iirc,I have 2 more "spares",ha!) model's rear wiper arm to clear one of these wings instead of some overpriced "SiR/VT" arm from ebay!

my 1988 Honda CRX Honda Service manual shows the "up" position as the park position, so does my 1989 CRX electronic helm manual. Also my 1989 crx si and crx dx both park the wiper in the up position.

I stand corrected. I was looking at the Civic not CRX manual.

I think it looks fine in the up position.
