Default Sand / media blasting

Hey all,

Looking to tackle my first auto body repair project.

Never attempted any sort of body work this will be my first time.

I want to media blast the entire under-carriage of my car and coat it with POR15.

I was going to pickup a simple harbor frieght setup but after reading reviews it seems everything they offer won't be able to get the job done in a timely fashion.

Can anyone recommend a brand or where to pickup a decent sand / media blaster?

have a shop do it..... the amount of $ u will spend on equipment to do it correctly will outweigh it unless you plan on getting into the blasting bizz

How would you even do that yourself? Wouldn't the sand/media just end up all over your garage and create a huge mess?

Appreciate the constructive response.

Anyone else have any useful information on media blasting?

Wear a respirator. Silicosis is serious business.

I'm talking SCFM, not PSI. The kits from harbourfreight are alright. I advise against the little guns with the attachable bags though. They sell the large canister ones that work alright. Just beware: sand gets EVERYWHERE. And DON'T USE PLAYSAND!
