Default Tow Hook Mounting

I have currently lowered my vehicle and if anything were to happen and my vehicle was to break down it would need to be towed. I am currently looking into a tow hook kit, when mounting the kit where are the mounting points for the tow hooks? I think i have idea but i want to make sure b/c if i install it wrong getting my car towed could cause more damage then good. Thanks guys.

If your car gets towed it still needs to go on a flatbed. A tow hook won't help. Get coilovers so you can raise it back to stock. Tow hooks are only needed for true track cars anyway.

Not true...anytime I had broke down which was 3 times I believe, I got towed by someone I knew with their truck/van and a tow strap. imo paying for tow trucks is lame.

Untrue on you... if you are being towed its because you don't have a reliable car.
Two hooks are for race cars not bling for cars to be cool.
OP save your money and buy a nice cool air freshener instead.

Really? When did I mention the use of a aftermarket tow hook in my post? I simply said you dont NEED a flatbed/tow truck if you break down.

Unless you get actual steel, your aluminum tow hooks are ment for bling only.

Little known fact, the hook you're attaching your rear tow hook to... is for towing already.

Pulling a broken down car by the means you mention are not only unsafe but illegal on the city streets.
Race cars are not on city streets hence the use of a tow hook to quickly remove the car from the track.
soooo untrue for you. don't get mad .. i understand tow trucks cost at least a left or right leg to use if you really do need them.
But if you have AAA or some sort of road side assistance you don't need your friends and their vans to pull you home.

Except Triple AAA is not always free, usually just a few miles and hookup.

Illegal on city streets? Sorry but that differs between state and/or county. Here in clark county washington it is not illegal. A state patrol is the one who told me the very first time I broke down. Some counties say you can only legally tow a vehicle w/ another by using a ridgid towbar. Others say a strap is fine for short distances and a slow speed.
Wondering why your still saying untrue to me? Nothing I have said is untrue...I swear you just like to bicker. Why would I get mad? Everytime you respond I lol.

i actually kinda agree with the part about how it differs from state and such. here in ms noone cares how you pull your broke down vehicle. and its only illegal to pull someone with a strap at night. during the day it dont matter.

Either way, it's for bling and it looks absurd. Next people will be driving around with parachutes on the back of their cars becuz racecar.

the back of these hondas already have tow hooks. they are fairly hidden and work well. just have a low profile tow hook set up made that you can bolt to the frame. not some shiny hot pink cirle sticking out of a gap in your front bumper lol.

I bought a 92' CX that had a passwd JDM one on the back, first thing I did right after I got the title was unbolted it and threw it in the hatch and drove off.
Speaking of which, if you want a black password JDM towhook, I'll sell you mine for dirt cheap.

In tx u can hook up chain or strap or whatever you want and tow your ride. I do it whenever my or my buddies rides break. Quick easy and totally legal. But yea get steel hook n the back does have a oem hook

in ny the fine for towing via strap is more expensive then the tow..

and as been stated...all civics came standard with tow hooks....they're in the back though but work very well. (no cutting needed)

I'm in pierce county WA and frequent most of the counties up and down the i-5 corridor to East of the mountains. far as i've seen tow straps are perfectly legal so long as you don't drive on any state highways. then your required at minimum a solid tow bar or dolley/trailer it.
