Icon2 1998 acura cl 2.3l brakes

Hi Im new to the site but not hondas. I just want to know if I can put twin piston calipers off of an 2005 honda odyssey and v6 rotors on my 1998 cl 2.3? It looks like they might if I use my bracket. Any suggestions please.

Not sure but I used twin piston calipers from an Acura Legend. Was a direct swap onto my V6 Accord. Pads were even the same. Try a Google search.

Are your cailpers mounted upsidedown? The legend calipers have different bore sizes and are mounted in a trailing configuration. The CL is mounted in a leading configuration. I just didn't want to spend all the money on NSX calipers. I really need the help of the brakeman on this site. Thanks. Still looking.

The 2005 Odyssey and the Acura Legend both use 28mm rotors, and I think the V6 uses 23mm ones. So this would be like running pads with 5mm wear. OK as long as you change them out on a regular basis. But it would be better if you could find some 28mm rotors with the right hub diameter and the right depth.

Thanks for the info. What if I use 28t brackets? Also the diameter of the odyssey rotor is bigger doesnt that matter? Im just so confused on the combination.

The rotor diameter should be used in conjunction with the caliper bracket. The 23T, the 25T, and the 28T were all originally used on a 282mm rotor. The width of the rotor was the same as the number of the bracket. Acura Legend GS and NSX both used the 28T bracket. Whether or not the 2005 Odyssey caliper will fit the bracket, I don't know. (It uses a 296mm rotor, which really doesn't mean it will or will not work.) BUT, I recently put 300mm rotors on my 94 using NSX calipers, and the brackets from a 2002 Acura RL, so maybe it will work. The only way to know for sure is to find one and try it.

Also, there are some good threads on brake applications on this forum. They really helped me when I made some conversions.
