Default lap or flange joint on quarter panel

Im replacing the quarter panels on my civic with those fixmyrust replacement panels. But instead of welding them on im going to use a panel adhesive. My question is should I flange the panel or should i lap joint it. Would putting a flange around the new panel distort it any? Would a lap joint be noticeable even after applying fillers?

I would flange it, you will defiantly notice a lap joint. I picked up a flanger from harbor freight pretty cheap. It also can punch holes so you can plug weld it on.

Flange it. Just use part of the new quarter and cut off a piece of the pillar you arnt going to use and lay the 2" sliver under the existing pillar. Then lay the new quarter over top of the other side of the sliver. I have never used only glue to attach a quarter so I'm not sure how that will hold up.

i would but weld it with a backing plate, and spot weld it in some places, since your using adhesive I-CAR says to lap it it grind down the lap flanges till they have a sharp edge like a knife, then lap them, you will use less filler and the joint wont be noticeable...
