Default Skunk2 New Alpha 900hp Rods

It may be a bit early to ask this question considering it hasnt been out very long, but has anyone used these rods to the extent of which Skunk2 claims? It seems to be a pretty economical rod for the people wanting to make big power. I'm not an expert nor a metallurgist, but the only other rods that claim that type of rating are twice the price and of a different/stronger design, so it just seems kind of weary. Anyone else have any thoughts?

They are pretty new from what I understand, and I wouldnt trust any H beam rod over 650hp. Especially not junk2 H beams. lol

They are basically an H-beam, similar to Eagle rods using ARP 2000 3/8ths Bolts. Don't let Spawn's negativity get to you.. He's not much of a fan..

All im sayin is, if im planning to exceed 650hp, im not using an H beam, im spending the couple hundred extra and using manley I beams or pauter X beams rated for 1000+. You can even get the BC 1000hp I beams for $630 through real street, worth the extra money IMO if your going to be dumping the kind of money it takes to make that kinda power.

Didn't we already discuss this in another thread? He may or may not be doing 650whp or 700whp or whatever. They are half of what Brian Crower I-beams are (and as you don't like Skunk2 products, I'm not such a fan of anything Brian Crower makes), and are a simple solution for your average over 500whp setup...

I get it.. WE get it. You don't like Skunk. Many don't. But many do, too. But since you're knocking these bad boys before its tried, take it easy on the introduction of anything new, ok? Just don't turn into Signalpuke or BlazeD or Glenn Beck or something. Relax. its ok.. the world will still remember who you are as a person

Now if they fail horribly, or are terribly inconsistent , and you have some emphirical evidence. Bash away.. but man.. give it rest.. At least for week, huh?

Have fun you crazy kids..

Oh... Sorry. *Puts on serious face*. I'd better not enjoy this Honda stuff anymore since its such serious business..

If its all like that then, I'll just go ahead and let you have at it there, player. I don't take part in all that dramatic soap-opera foolishness.

65%? Go back to school son. Don't make me whip mine out because all of you will lose. Judging by most people's parts they actually buy you are broke *** kids that come on the Internet to make yourselves feel better. Regardless, what kind of FWD person even remotely wants an automatic? It takes away everything that FWD even has that makes them slightly fun to drive...

Why don't you like Brian Crower? I have their valve train in my engine. I can't fault the quality and customer support they gave me.

If you're worried about Skunk2 or Eagle rods not holding up, I'd recommend staying away from Brian Crower rods as well. They are all made overseas.

It's no so much the brand as it is the fact that I wouldnt trust an H beam rod above 650. H beams are designed to be a cheaper alternative to I beams for a reason. While i wouldn't call them "weak" an I beam or an X beam for that matter is certainly a stronger rod. H beams are a great alternative to stock rods up to a certain point.

So you're a proponent of design over material and/or quality.

Design usually is the key factor when selecting parts for your engine. Quality and materials are just claims made by the manufacturer, and since its a skunk2 product....show me some independent tests of these rods handling 900hp. lol
