2015 Civic Type R Unveiled
...for Europe

"......After a five-year hiatus, Ito confirmed that the Honda Civic Type-R (pictured above) would be returning to Europe in 2015. No details were revealed about this high-output Civic, but Ito did mention that Honda's goal is to make the new Type-R the "fastest front-wheel-drive vehicle on the Nürburgring" where we've already seen the car testing. The Euro-spec Civic Type-R went out of production in 2010 due to stricter European emissions standards. No word as to whether the new Civic Type-R would eventually be offered in the U.S., but don't hold your breath."

I've seen this before. The rear looks goofy. I think the spoiler throws it off, but it might take time to grow on me. They need another integra and not that RSX bull ****

Again this is the euro civic so who cares. And considering even the japanese Civic R is bigger & fatter than old Accords, I would say the true "R" spirit is long dead. It died with the DC, EK & NA. I mean honestly how can they pass off MacPhersons as "R".

Gay as ****. No CTR will ever surpass the EK9. The first and the last real CTR. I don't know if its because I'm close minded or just old but the EK9 is still my second favorite R chasis.
I 100% agree with you. The EK9 Boasted a Formula 1 inspired double wishbone suspension, an engine that could rev to the moon, not to mention it looked killer. These new Honda's are just not built/engineered to the same pedigree as their predecessors. Just a different aero package, an engine built for low end tourqe that makes you "feel" like it has alot of power, and of course, the useless MacPherson suspension geometry. They need to start designing real sport vehicles again, not all this eco-friendly, hybrid-electric power rubbish. And like someone mentioned above, I would love the revival of a proper Integra Type R. Though that's just wishful thinking

To that, Honda is dead.
Obviously this car is nothing like the old DC2R or EK9, but nothing is anymore. I don't see a lightweight FWD compact with wishbones ever again in the US, from any company.
With that said, I would still buy this new one over a Focus ST, Hyundai, MazdaSpeed3, etc.
