I have a 97 prelude SH, H22 bored over, sleeved, je pistons, eagle rods, skunk 2 tb, intake mani, valve springs, stage 2 cams, ram air, stage 2 clutch, lowered on neuspeed springs, OBD1 converted and tuned on E85, Chrome.

I just got it back from the tuner a few days ago and I completely shredded my CV - there are seriously peices all over the place. I have also noticed my motor mounts don't appear to be holding up too well.

The car dyno'ed at 200hp but I would like something that can hold up to at least 400 hp (since there is always more work to do ) - does anyone have any reccomendations for a very sturdy, affordible set of CVs and/or motor mounts? i don't want to have to replace them again in 6 months. Thanks!

 

you can use energy suspension inserts for your mounts. when it comes to the cv check and make sure your angle of your axles aren't to much. that will cause it to cut sometimes

Are you just saying that you shredded your CV boots, or the actual joints?

Prelude axles from the factory are beefier than other Honda axles, so if you can just put new boots on them would be the best way to go.

If you need new axles, either find some OEM Prelude axles, not cheap re-builts, or maybe upgrade to a set of DSS axles if needed. Personally, I would be surprised if you needed them as I have seen stock axles hold up to 6-700 WHP reliably.

 

i shredded my cv gearbox side bearing (3pcs) into pieces too after gearbox rebuild on my own by forcing the driveshaft in without align the cv bearing correctly into the groove. it run fine for the first 500km and making noise after that.could your be the case?

never break any driveshaft 240bhp so far no matter i hard i push it.Just tearing cv boot cause of lowdown my lude way too much.
