Del Sol with stock B16a2 engine - Fuel Consumption question
Whats up H-T!!!
I just wanted to see if anyone else is having this problem. I got a stock b16a2 in my sol, only thing it has is a cat back, and a CAI. Just replaced all the oil seals (shouldnt make a difference), new dizzy about a month ago, just put new NGK wires, and havent changed the plugs in about a little over a year. its been about a year since i bought the car, and this fuel question always get me. So i drive about an average of 20-40 miles a day depending on what im doing. So during the week im going to and from school and to and from work and school. so i fill up with prem. every tank and half a tank seems to last me monday thru friday no problem. then the weekend comes its about half tank on the gauge(which could be wrong) and then it seems like the bottom half just gets sucked out hard core. no changing in the driving whatsoever. i shift at 2500, foot is at about 15% throttle (i believe, not actually measured). idk if its just normal with hondas (since this is my first one). Now i know everyone is gunna be like "oh well you have a catback and **** so your fuel milage is gunna go down". Yes i know but its not normal to go half a tank for 5 days then lose the other half in 2. i just wanna know if anyone else has had this problem. BTW this is ALL CITY DRIVING.
Thanks Guys!

This^ is a normal issue with Civic fuel gauges - they are inaccurate.
The correct way to measure gas mileage is by dividing the number of miles driven by the number of gallons used. Monitoring gas mileage by the fuel gauge reading is extremely inaccurate.

alright cool guys. thanks for the input. i mean im used to getting shitt gas mileage me owning a ton of rotaries, but glad that its normal and not like some fuel line crack. another thing when you stat up does it seem like ur motor eats a done of gas?
If you are worried about low gas mileage, start by measuring it for a few tanks of gas, and then post the numbers. Otherwise, we and you don't know whether there is a gas mileage problem.
Yeah mine has always done the same thing even with the old Y5 motor in it. Gas always goes foster once you are under 1/2 tank. A B16 should get 28-30mpg depending on how you drive.
