Hi, I am new to Hondas and new to this forum. Five weeks ago I purchased a 91 lx. The clutch pedal bracket broke and it was almost to the floor, so I welded it back up, put in a new clutch, clutch cable, and cv axles. When I was finished I had no adjustment on the cable so I put in some bushings so I had about an inch of adjustment. With about 400 miles on it, I only have 1/4in of adjustment left. I checked my welds and the bracket is holding fine. When I was putting on the cable, i noticed that the clutch lever has what I would consider a lot of play before it engages. Is there something in the trans that would be letting go? Im at school and dd this car so I need to get it reliable. Thanks

 

Does anyone have any ideas?

 

If the release lever inside was going out wouldn't it not engage? I don't think that the cable nut is loosening on its own but has that ever happened to anyone?
