Transmisson Slipping, mechanic says it needs an overhaul - 2002 SE
hey everybody,
I was just in the middle of a 350 mile in California when my transmission started slipping. I got it towed back to my mechanic, who just told me I need a full transmission overhaul. He made some brief mention about there being some sort of recall for Honda transmissions from 99-02, but that mine had too many miles (112k) to qualify for it?
Can anybody shed some light on what my next move is here? He wants $1950 for a full overhaul, which sucks, but what can you do.
Honda Accord SE, automatic.

try flushing the fluid with honda atf and substitute 1 qt for no-slip additive.
