Horrible scraping and grinding sound from under front end
I have a 2002 Honda Accord, 4 door. I bought it used in December 2009. It has about 130,000 miles on it right now. For the last year or so, the car has been making a terrible grinding and scraping noise from under the front end. It has been hard to explain it to people, and nobody has been able to fix it yet, yet I have had repairs done on the car here and there and nobody has fixed this one issue. The car drives FINE, but when I am driving it, under the front end, there is this terrible scraping sound. The tires are perfect, the brakes are perfect, it is not a brake or braking issue at ALL.
I just want to know what the noise is coming from! Its driving me nuts!
Thanks

It could be the brake rotor backing plate hitting the rotor. Happens sometimes when you get rust buildup on the brake rotors the rust will hit the backing plate.

Take the calipers off and pull the pad and clean things up. Look for abnormal wear or any spots anywhere else that ae shiny from contact. Get under there and look!

bend it, it's thin sheet metal. The lincoln does this and no matter how many times i fix it it will eventually do it again
