Default B16 gears in LS case...Question

Alright so I'm putting the B16 gear set in an LS case with Kazz LSD. Got everything shimmed to spec and I can get the case to close but cant get the countershaft to pop up into the snap ring. the onlything that I reused from the LS transmission is the LS case and LS final drive. Could the LS final drive be the cause of the countershaft not poping into the case? I've searched and read that the LS final drive and B16 final drive have 2 different gear pitches and will not work together. Just wanted to clarify before I purchase the gear! Thanks

if you use the LS final drive you will also have to use the LS countershaft

Just what I thought.
So the B16 countershaft and the LS final drive have different gear pitches?

yes. a b16 final drive is 4.4, an ls is 4.2.

The final drive is both the countershaft and ring gear together as a unit.

Both the ring gear and countershaft need to match, they also should both come from the same transmission as the gears develop a wear pattern. Using say the ring gear from one LS transmission with the countershaft from a different LS transmission will result in gear whine.
