Getting my first Honda
What's up everybody? This is a little introduction thread as well as an "I need help" thread haha, later tonight I'm getting a 92 Accord as a trade straight across for my 99 F150.
The Accord has, if I remember right, 250K+ miles, but about 50k on a rebuilt transmission and motor. It's an automatic, which goes against my nature but hopefully it'll keep me off the gas since my main reason for getting this car is to save money on gas. I don't plan on doing a whole lot of work to the motor, just going to make it a nice DD while I'm fixing up my true love, my 87 Toyota Supra :D I do plan on getting it painted by a buddy of mine, and he quoted me about $250 to get it painted. When I get the car later tonight I'll get some pictures posted up, and Friday when I get paid I plan on flushing all the fluids and trying to find any problems it's got.
So far what he told me is that the back windows won't roll down at all, and the front windows roll up and down slow. He also said it's slow to start when it's cold outside, so that may be an issue I need to address before winter gets here.
Here's some pictures :

Look at all these miles! Lol

Check the fuses for the rear windows, they can be out. If not you can get replacement regulators from the pick and pull for really cheap.
Put Shin Etsu great on the window tracks to help with the slowness.

What is shin etsu? Haha and alright I'll check the fuses when i get done with school tomorrow. I have a question though; when in gear, on d4 it blinks and when i shift into park, neutral, ect, the green box stays on d4. Is that normal?
Nope that not normal. it should change. might be the lights blot tho. when i got my accord the D4 light never cam on till i change the light bolt. if D4 blinks maybe transmission problem or something.

check the main relay. its usually the main reason for accords not starting. you can open it up once you get it out and check the solder joints for hairline cracks. you can fix them by melting the solder with a iron. also the older CB7 (1990-1993 accords) have problems with their transmission computers. you might need a new Trans computer. also just a heads up you should expect around 21 mpg city driving. i drive like a grandma and get around that. the autos wernt that good with fuel economy. good luck with your newly acquired accord!
Where is the main relay located? I will have to check that, I'm going to try and read the codes from the diagnostic and see if I can get that to give me some suggestions. How much is a main relay going to run me?
check fuel pressure. check for good spark. could be getting flooded meaning the ect is not reading right. or could be it is and making it rich in the mornings but your spark is not good enough. i don't think its the main relay. if it was you wouldn't get spark or no fuel prime at all. also check your throttle body plate as this can cause a no start
what your looking for at the throttle body plate is black soot making the throttle body plate flush not allowing air into the intake. sure thats what the iacv is for but you never know. ive had this happen before. and no thats not the main relay the main relay is located under the driver side dash by the steering wheel. its a brown lil box with a one piece connector to it.
Oh okay. I saw the brown box but didn't see main on it and was kinda rushing since it was hot and i was on the side of the highway lol. I looked at the throttle plate a little but didn't get too in depth, I'm going to try and get it towed to a shop cause i dont have time to fix this right now
This just sucks.
Your first Honda and it lasted 2 days lol.
Like mentioned above, its not the main relay if it is starting for any amount of time.
The main relay controls the fuel pump so if fuel pressure is confirmed the shop should look elsewhere.
Best of luck in getting this figured out quickly.

Lol yeah you're telling me. But i guess its my fault for getting a car with so many miles. Im still trying to get the car to the shop at the moment -.- might give in and borrow my ex's but thats last resort lmao
Good news! Turns out i ran out of gas and was just parked on such an incline that a gallon of gas didn't get to the fuel pump -.- i found out after towing it with a chain for close to 2 miles
supply 12 voltz to one of the wires on the window motor from the battery. The other wire to a good ground, there are only 2 that go to the motor. Its a intresting process, I would also check voltage at the battery (while running) and tells us what it is. (can make the windows go up slow)
