What do most car owners do, just throw parts on it, ie pick out parts/upgrades they like and add them to the car. While I agree lego building is a process we should all avoid, its inevitable for a new car owner not to swap out various parts in their pursuit of mods. Kindergarten rules still apply. If you want to help, offer advice instead of put downs.

Your theory seems to work for the average kid who buys a 98 Civic Ex, but usually ITR folks know what they bought and how good the car is stock. They plan their mods accordingly, not just what they can pickup locally on craigslist or @ a JDM swapmeet.

Cuz the last owner paint the black on the roof i didn't like it also. Next year will do JDM conversion then gonna paint the car ...I wish i can afford another NSX that my dream car too.
Again, what is your goal with this car? From the looks of some of those pics, you should probably stop spending money on Ti exhausts and Volk wheels and spend some on getting the car back to good running/looking shape. I'm sure it is in need of bushings and it certainly appears to be missing some bits and pieces under the hood.
Plus, you have to de-rice what the previous owner did.
Just IMO.

I asked a question to OP. While you may have a theory about it, I was waiting to see what OP said before I said anything more.

In the end its his car, his money, and there may not be any goals at the moment. As a community we can offer advice when asked or offer insight as needed. I would emphasize offer there, rather than bantering. Harsh, but I think you are being harsh to this kid. Do you want him to stick around and get plugged into the community or walk away thinking the "ITR community on honda-tech sucks."

Everybody have a different ideas to do with the car. The reason I don't like the stock ITR look that why i wana to do something different. As long my car looking nice and fast the way it be. I'm happy for it . Money is money, I Paid how to Play...
This really sounds like a nagging mother here. You can't force your ideals on another person. He just bought the car, let him have fun with it. You certainly won't reach your goals of steering the kid towards putting the money into what you/others feel best. It's his choice, let him do what he pleases. While your requests may be justified, the OP has to see them as justified and respect your opinion to follow suit. The current approach does not seem fruitful. I suggest hitting the back button or changing your tone/angle.

As for ITRs being $2500, *any* with under 100K and are somewhat stock/clean title/not wrecked are still going to sell for far more than that, so I don't consider what basically amounts to a more complete shell even being in the discussion.
And I'm not sure I care at this point. Not being an @ss, I just don't really care. Been around for far too long and seen folks come and go. But, it is easy to weed out those who appreciate the car/know the history and what it is about from those who want it for the bling/name cachet.
Oh well.

Love the new upgrades. There's nothing wrong with having a type R as a garage queen. Keep up with the good parts.
