Default Stuck trunk

2005 Accord Hybrid
Broken pin in latch.
Cannot open trunk. Cannot access through back seat because of hybrid battery. Cannot remove battery becuase of bolt in trunk.
Dealer spent 3 hours trying to get trunk open. No success.
Dealer sent me to body shop. Body shop is scratching their heads saying maybe remove bumper and access through trunk vents. maybe not. May have to cut hole.
Insanity! design flaw.
any suggestions before body shop work???

No I don't have any ideas but just wanted to say good luck!
If dealership spent three hours and bodyshop scratched their heads.... Good luck finding ideas from here. Try not to take anger out on your trunk lol

I contacted Honda corporate and two weeks later They responded that it was my problem because the car is out of warranty.
The rep would not talk about the design flaw. Kept repeating the out of warranty mantra and told me I was on my own
