Default getting speedo cable conected.

ok i went to honda and got a clip to hold the cable into the trans thinking that this was my problem. well i drove home last night and among the continuous acurence of new problems... by speedo still doesnt work.

so i took of the cluster cover thing and i noticed that the cable was out of the back of the speedo. i plugged it back in and drove it around some and it still doesnt work. i am curious if there is any special way of getting it in or a trick to it?

going to pull the cable out to see if it is broken inside today. i will update with this later maybe tomorrow but i dont think this is it because it pulled out of my speedo when i dropped my trans.

I prefer disconnecting the cable from the tranny to test. You just have to pull the retaining clip and it pulls out.
You can then have somebody watch the speedo, (push the cable in to the sheath so it's seated properly) and simply spin the cable by hand. The needle should jump.

If not, then either the cable isn't hooked up at the cluster or the cable is snapped internally.
