2000 Accord engine light on -- its P0401 need help
Advance Auto ran a check on the engine light and the code that came back was P0401. I have a read a few posts on how to handle it, but none specifically are 2000 Accord 4cl vtech.

I looked it over and want to make sure this is what I need to do, or if that is for the 1996 Accord. Anyone had success fixing this on a 2000 Accord?

If you look at post 4, he points to the area that you will need to clean. You will clean the port from the arrow back to the egr valve. You will need to remove the top part of the intake manifold which is part 10 here...

You will need to purchase gaskets 11 and 15. You can get them from anywhere you want to. Buy a couple cans of carb cleaner and clean out the ports and the egr valve.

Thanks! I was going to buy the gaskets local and save the $13 Shipping & Handling but the gasket sells as a set.

I called the local dealer and the total on the 2 parts needed are $12.37, so Ill get em there.
So removing the manifold, will I need to disconnect anything prior to removing the bolts?

There's a good chance that you will need to remove the old manifold gasket material from the mating surfaces. You can do that easily with a razor blade of some sort. They sell some that have a plastic handle but I've found just using a good quality razor blade does the trick better with just your fingers. Just make sure the blade is flush, don't try using the corners just use the blade and run it flush with the surface. If you can just take a picture of anything you take off so you know how to put it back on. Or just label stuff so you can put it back. Won't take but maybe 15 minutes to do that and will make it easier to put it all back together later.
Finally! It took me a while to get this manifold off but here it is.

I cleaned it

This manifold was connected in so many places, I hope I can get this thing back on.
I did take a few pics before I started to remove it, but as you go you just start having to disconnect in so many different areas that it's easy to get lost.
The bolts on the back were a breeze compared to the hoses that are back there and all around.

Thanks Holmesnmanny, no more engine light!
I did scrape it down good with a blade and also used fine grade steel wool and smoothed it all out.
I removed the EGR also and cleaned it out real good and scraped off its gasket and replaced it.
Getting the manifold back on wasnt as bad as I thought. I think this whole thing took me around 4-5 hours, but I was going real slow.
I reconnected the neg post on the battery and cranked it up, started rough and then smoothed out. I guess from all the grime and brake cleaner in the intake that didnt get sucked into the shop vac that I had going while I was cleaning the manifold.
Drove it around 6 miles or so and no engine light.
