Default 2.25 vs 3in catback exhaust thermal reseach all motor

i need to get rid of my cheap *** ebay 2.25 catback i am running cause it sounds like **** and i wantd to see if any all motor guys out there have ran 3in thermal catback on a all b20v all motor puttn down around 220hp or should just stay with the 2.25???my tuner said that i prob pick up more tq with the 3in vs 2.25 but not much hp and i thinks hes right but im sick of car sounding shitty and i know thremal is great company and comes out with great sounding exhaust but i dont want to waste money on the 3inch if i dont need it...

i would be surprised if you pick up any torque, usually larger diameter piping will get you more peak hp and loss of torque down low.

well if i was running a b16 or gsr i would prob loose tq but i think cause my b20v 85mm i might unleash some tq running the 3in but either u guys ever hurd the 3in TR catback on a b series??was it really loud??

You're N/A, so any exhaust is going to be loud. Having said that, I used to run a 2.5" TR on my B20V and it was loud, but not raspy. Go 3" all the way for sure. Then you'll be ready for boost later.

ended up goin with 2.5 kteller piping with a vibrant muffler on my rex..sounds sick

so what did you use for your cat? i have the same problem my stock b16 exhaust manifold id is 2.25' and i ordered the tanabe medallion touring which is 2.5' what do i do for the cat?
