Default Thank you Go-Autoworks! The Shodan and all of you!

I just got the snakelike air intake system on my car and took it for a pretty long drive. I can't tell you all how pleased I am with the work Greg at Go-Autoworks did. I'd also like to that TheShodan for his advice and grace...The rest of you folks that contributed constructive advice was much welcomed.

I can honestly say that the car drives and runs better in just about every way than it did before I added a turbocharger. I say just about because I have yet to check fuel mileage.

Only time will tell how the durability and reliability will be but I can tell you I'm very encouraged. The car actually runs cooler than it did before...go figure.

I really believe it could be a daily driver.

Thanks again!

^^^This guy got flame every time he made a post and he's now saying thanks.

I mean you can see why he makes a thank you thread about a car he took advice on and how he loves the work and doesn't even post a single picture.
No wonder no one commented here.

To make it clear. Go-Autoworks did the turbo install...and the Shodan advised heavily. The work is flawless.
All I have added since is an intake/filter, a fan under the intercooler, heat shielding

The engine is a JDM 18C Type-R with a Garrett GT2860RS turbocharger. Hondata S300, Tunerview digital gauge. The transmission has a Houseman 3.47 F/D, 215/50-13 tires. The car is a 1964/2000 Knightsbridge Mini, weighs 1660 Lbs. Flip up fiberglass front end. Afco coil over shocks all the way around. Wilwood 4 piston brakes.

I'll likely pull the transmission and send it off to have it rebuilt w/carbon fiber synchros and re-geared to better match the new environment. I'm also going to put Recaro seats and 5 point harness.

I have to finish the front end. Put on the new air dam, a small air scoop for the intercooler. I may paint the whole car flat black.

OK, flame away! But you have an ugly dog...

Thanks! That was a mock up pick...all bolts are good.

The vids will come soon...but the sound is much more muted than before. Which is a really good thing. With the turbo, fiberglass hood, sound deadening and heat shielding made a big difference in how loud the car is. The car is much more pleasant to drive long distances.

I appreciate your looking so closely...It's hard to see but the engine package is now like a solid mass. There is just no room for anything. The simple task of getting an air filter on it was a head scratcher. It originally had a screen on the turbo and I wasn't comfortable with that. Several silicon elbows and aluminum tubes later it routed behind the radiator, turns left and a cone filter now sits forward of the radiator, behind the right front headlight. IAT is about 99 degrees (weather was only 70's) just driving around. I have an aluminum hood scoop I'm going to fab up to look right and fit directly over the small intercooler. The Spal fan fits snugly under the intercooler and that's about all I can do.

I'd like to try some Torco MTL. Unfortunately the places I keep finding are all on the left coast and the shipping ends up more than the oil.

No need for Torco. Best stuff to use is either GM Syncromesh or Honda OEM fluid.

Remember.. OEM in honda world is actually best!!

I have Honda MTF in it...guess I'll leave it alone. It works fine. I'm sure it will come back with Torco in it as they sell it. That's a winter project...
Thanks yet again.

Yep, OEM Honda is best... right down to the brass synchros. Steer clear of the "carbon fiber" ones.

Really? No carbon fiber synchros? I'm going to have the trans rep-geared. I figured that while they're in there they may as well put the good stuff in.

Just because its "Carbon fibre" doesn't mean its just "good" for any and all purposes. Like all parts, you must look at purpose for the syncros. If you're at 300whp, no plans to go on the circuit or drag race on a serious level, leave it be, if this is more of a street car and go to a few shows.

where did you get the three lamps next to the gauges? I like that design and I haven't been able to find it, talking about the particular lens
